In August 2019, The Cricketers Arms was proudly reopened under the ownership of Harry and Sam Kodagoda, marking the first venture of Horizon Pub Company Ltd.
Harry brings extensive experience from his award-winning career, having worked in some of London’s best kitchens since 16. He later spent 15 years at Anglian Country Inns, working his way up to the Director of Food. Whilst there, he earned accolades such as AA rosettes, Michelin Bib Gourmand, and was awarded Best Fish & Chips in the country by Tom Kerridge.
Harry always dreamt of having his restaurant and once The Cricketers Arms came onto the market, the opportunity was too good to miss. The timing wasn’t “ideal” as his wife Sam had just given birth to their 2nd child, she was less than impressed! Nevertheless, Sam was firmly on board having grown up in Bishops Stortford. After seeing the pub’s picturesque village setting, she knew this was the right pub for them.
Together, with General Manager Andy MacNaughton, Harry and Sam aim to establish The Cricketers Arms as a premier destination for dining and accommodation, offering exceptional food and warm hospitality.
